Individual Award Winner
Shona Bramley
Shona has given more than 20 years of volunteer service to this organisation and provides a wealth of knowledge for staff and other members alike. Her passion and endless energy for helping people with respiratory conditions is legendary.

Individual Runner Up

Frankie Letford
In 1997 Frankie established a ME support group after finding a lack of support and information available to people. For 12 years she has been committed to providing support, education and information and has made a huge difference.

Individual Special Commendations

Diane O’Sullivan
As co-ordinator of Friends of True Colours, Diane has worked tirelessly to make the community aware of the service that True Colours provides to families requiring much needed support. Her depth of kindness and caring is unlimited, her genuine interest in supporting families clearly evident.

Ruth Cameron
The dedication, loyalty and long serving support from Ruth has been the key to the success of the Red Cross 5 Cross Roads store. Ruth’s dedication to helping others, responsibility of the shop, and over-seeing a hard-working team of volunteers benefits both the local community and raises funds for the Red Cross.

Judy Pope
Judy has great empathy, with fantastic people skills. She is very respectful to clients needs; she is patient, kind and caring, and a brilliant role model for the clients. Judy is well respected within the Dress for Success team, is passionate about the organisation and the success of our clients returning to the workforce.

Leo Prendergast
Leo embodies the spirit of compassion and caring that shows the refugee newcomers to NZ that they are indeed welcome. It seems appropriate that the warmth of the clothing supplied through the efforts of Leo’s voluntary fundraising is matched by the warmth of Leo himself.

Soujan Mitra
Soujan has given generously of his time to the AVP (Waikato) management committee and various sub-committees. His expertise and delightful sense of humour have been of great value to this organisation and its members.

Dallas has been involved with LifeLine Waikato, in many roles, for several years. Her dedication and loyalty to our community highlights her ongoing consideration for all individuals well-being. Dallas is a highly valued member of this organisation.

Kevin Zein
Kevin has been nominated for his outstanding service and commitment to this organisation for more than 10 years. Kevin is highly motivated to assist those in the community who are sick or in need and is always willing to help with what needs to be done. Kevin is a valuable part of the team.

Team Award Winner
Refugee Services Aotearoa NZ
Volunteers with Refugee Services are assigned a refugee family/individual to support for the first 6 months in their new community. This team of volunteers assists with setting up homes, linking with Work & Income, schools, ESOL courses, orientation to the local community and ongoing support.


Team Runner Up
Whitianga Community Services Trust - Family Op Shop Team
The Family Op Shop team comprises 17 dedicated volunteers. They have created a wonderful welcoming atmosphere in this shop, showing their dedication and community spirit. This has become a very social caring Op Shop which doesn’t just sell goods but genuinely cares for their clients and the community.



Team Special Commendation
LifeLine Waikato
LifeLine Waikato operates a professional and confidential 24hr telephone counselling and support service to the greater Waikato region. LifeLine’s dedicated team of telephone counsellors and other members are all volunteers without whom this service could not operate.


Team Nominees
New Zealand Red Cross - 5 Cross Roads Shop
The team of volunteers at the 5 Cross Roads Op Shop is an incredible group of hardworking and dedicated people without whom the shop would not operate. This team works together to ensure there are good quality items available for sale to the local community, in turn raising funds for the Red Cross.


Parents Place
This organisation brings together a number of groups under one roof, allowing access to information and support needed in the journey through motherhood. The role of volunteers is to facilitate the venue, look after groups, tend to administration and financial matters and general maintenance of the premises and grounds.




Otorohanga Support House Whare Awhina - Community Health Transport
The Otorohanga Community Health Transport team is a group of dedicated members who give their time, vehicles and caring support to ensure that anyone unable to access transport to a hospital appointment is taken. In a 6 month period, transport was provided for 65 clients, totaling 231 volunteer hours and 8071 kms travelled.
