Mission:
The Waikato Family Centre nurtures families/whānau and their babies by offering free individualised professional advice, education programmes and ongoing support. Highly skilled staff, work in partnership with families/whānau encouraging and guiding them through the first 24 months of their baby’s life.
Our core service covers a huge range of Child and Maternal Health such as breastfeeding and its many ranges of concerns. Adjustments to motherhood, sleep and its many concerns with babies. We have had a huge increase in reflux in babies. Many parents have no or little support especially our immigrant parents, feeding refusal, introduction to solids, toddlers and their many different challenges, babies who refuse to take a bottle e.g. Mum returning to work or needing medical treatment. The Waikato Family Centre identifies concerns and can provide resources and refer to appropriate services such as Mental Health/GP’s, and Mothercraft.
