Te Awamutu Food Forest

Te Awamutu Food Forest Trust improves food security, environmental sustainability, and community wellbeing by creating and maintaining public food forests and community gardens. We bring people together to grow, share, and harvest free, fresh food while fostering connection, education, and kaitiakitanga.

We establish and maintain community food forests, gardens, and public fruit trees that provide free produce for everyone. We coordinate volunteer opportunities, support schools and community groups, deliver gardening and sustainability education, compost community food waste, and distribute surplus produce to local pātaka kai and community organisations.
