Thrifty Threads Team Volunteer Opportunity – Pop-Up Op-Shop Helpers Needed!
One-off event | Flexible 2-3 hour shifts | Help, shop, and connect!
We’ve teamed up with Hamilton City Council and Go Eco to reduce clothing waste through Thrifty Threads—a fun, feel-good pop-up op-shop at The Meteor on Victoria Street, Hamilton.
We’re looking for teams of 2 to 20 individuals – perfect for workplace teams seeking a fun team-building activity or university students wanting to volunteer together and make a difference. You’ll help sort and hang clothes, set up the space, and keep things running smoothly. Whether your team loves fashion, cares about sustainability, or wants to support Hospice Waikato in a hands-on way, we’d love to have you!
This is the perfect opportunity if this is what your team would like to do
- Teams looking for a quick, one-off volunteering activity
- Groups happy to be on their feet and work with their hands
- People who enjoy community events and want to make a difference
- Teams who want to shop the op-shop while volunteering
The purpose behind this event and why it matters so much
Last year, this event raised over $20,000 in just 2.5 days! Every dollar supports patients and families through Hospice Waikato, which provides free care and support to people living with terminal illness and their whānau. Your team’s time helps ensure patients get comfort, dignity, and specialist care when they need it most.
Curious about what’s in store? Here’s a sneak peek!
- A relaxed, feel-good event with great vibes
