Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society

The Cancer Society Waikato/Bay of Plenty Division works in your community providing free, quality support for people affected by cancer.

All our services are free of charge and include: Liaison nurse support, support groups, transportation to treatment, Cancer Society’s Lions Lodge, health promotion and fundraising

We need the assistance of volunteers to help us deliver some of our services to people in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty living with cancer.

We rely on enthusiastic and well-organised volunteers to help coordinate our Daffodil Day appeal, which is the Cancer Societies major fundraiser and are on the lookout for Daffodil Day Area Coordinators.

Oncology Host – Thames Hospital

As an Oncology Host, you’ll provide compassionate support to clients during their assessments, treatment, and follow-up appointments, offering a welcoming presence, assistance, and connection with Cancer Society Waikato/Bay of Plenty services.

Cancer Support Volunteer Driver – Hamilton & Te Awamutu

This special role supports people undergoing cancer treatment by driving them to and from Waikato Hospital and other medical centres. You’ll collect clients from home, take them to appointments, and return them safely once treatment is complete.
