Support the judges during the rose show by helping manage entries, record results, and ensure the judging process runs smoothly.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work alongside an allocated judge, team, and set of classes.
- Count the entries in each class and record the numbers on the judging sheets provided.
- Ensure exhibitor names are not visible on the entry cards during judging.
- Assist with moving vases to a lower shelf for easier viewing or taking selected vases to the championship table when requested.
- Once each class has been judged, record the results and ask one of the judges to sign or initial the sheet.
- Deliver the completed judging sheets to the show secretary.
- Collect the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cards from the show secretary and place them face down beside the relevant exhibits until all rose show judging is complete.
A few things to know:
- Please allow the judges to concentrate while judging is underway. Conversations with judges are welcome once judging of the classes has finished.
- Attention to detail and following instructions are important to help ensure fair and accurate judging.
