About Us

The Hamilton Methodist Social Services Trust (HMSS) has been operating for more than 30 years. We aim to provide a central city location for programmes that develop life skills and social connection for all. We currently provide classes for the disability and mental health sectors as well as a community meal, food assistance, showers, advocacy and information for health, housing and budgeting services.

What you will be doing

  • Supporting the Tutor in the class of up to 7 people with disabilities
  • Support the class as they engage in a range of art and craft
  • Help with set up and pack down
  • Having lots of fun

Requirements:

  • Have a good level of English
  • Have some experience/expertise in cooking (but not essential)
  • Be patient and kind with people
  • Can focus on inclusiveness and having fun
  • Reliable and adaptable

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

  • Every Tuesday & Wednesday 9:30-11:30pm & 12:30-2pm
  • A minimum of 6 month commitment
  • If you can commit to both classes for a Tuesday or Wednesday or to all of them we would love to hear from you.
