We are looking for people who can bring wisdom, encouragement, practical insight, and a heart for mission into this new season of St Francis. This is not just to be a board member at a meeting, it is more than that. It’s working with the Business Manager to help execute a plan for community engagement in concrete steps that will work.

There are monthly meetings which will involve some operational church matters but your input would mainly be required on the strategic and practical implementation of our vision and mission ideas around community center formation, business initiatives and how to serve our community

This volunteer governance role involves:

  • Monthly Board meetings
  • Helping shape our developing vision into concrete and achievable steps and stages
  • Acting as a sounding board for on the ground leadership
  • Supporting the development of St Francis as a practical, community-focused church and hub

Requirements:

This role may suit people who:

  • Think strategically and creatively
  • Enjoy building new things
  • Have experience in business, projects, governance, or community initiatives
  • Has experience in launching new initiatives knowing what works and what doesn't and how to engage with the community
  • Have some understanding of church, charity, or social enterprise governance (its unique!)
  • Are aligned with the Christian faith and passionate about the mission and Kingdom of God
  • Want to help shape something meaningful and different in Hillcrest

Time commitment:

  • 1 evening meeting per month 7-9.30pm
  • Monthly coffee and perhaps more to explore ideas and bounce ideas around
