Every week, children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities come to Cambridge RDA to find strength, confidence, and a sense of freedom. Up on a horse, a child who usually relies on a wheelchair gets to experience the world from a completely different perspective.

These breakthrough moments require a team of volunteers, but they also require a safe place to happen. As our Volunteer Farm Manager, you are the quiet force behind these moments. By keeping our property safe and functional. Your hands-on work ensures our gates stay open and our property remains a safe haven for the community.

How You Support the Journey
We need a practical, hands-on Volunteer Farm Manager to help keep our property and facilities running smoothly for the people who rely on them every week.
Your practical work will directly support these life-changing moments by:

  • Maintaining Safe Spaces: Caring for the grounds to ensure safe spaces for our horses and riders.
  • Creating Positive Experiences: Playing a vital part in building a welcoming environment for our community.
  • Using Your Rural Skills: Offering an ideal opportunity for someone with farming, rural, or property experience to contribute locally.
  • Making a Lasting Impact: Providing a flexible way for retired, semi-retired, or handy individuals to change lives.

Requirements:

  • Rural Experience: Practical farming, rural, or property management experience.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to work outdoors and carry out manual farm tasks.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong organisational and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Independence: Comfortable working on the property autonomously.
  • Leadership: Ability to coordinate other volunteers and contractors.
  • Community Spirit: A genuine passion for giving back locally.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

  • Flexible time commitment but does require weekly hours.
  • 4-5 hours per week
  • More, during haymaking season
