Repairers, Tinkerers and DIY’ers

Hamilton

Organisation Go Eco

You’ll work alongside community members to help them diagnose, fix, and care for their everyday belongings – keeping usable items out of landfills and empowering locals with practical repair knowledge.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Diagnose & Repair: Troubleshoot and fix items brought in by attendees (e.g., small household electronics, garments, toys and bicycles).
  • Share Skills: Walk attendees through the repair process so they learn how to maintain and fix items themselves.
  • Help move us towards a circular economy – one item at a time.

Requirements:

  • We're particularly keen to hear from people who can mend clothing; (buttons, hems, basic repairs); fix bikes (tyres, chains, brakes etc); and test and repair electronics.
  • Good communication skills, and able to guide people through the process.

Time commitment:

Event based; We have a calendar of events coming up - if these dates don't suit - please get in touch - we'll let you know when future events are scheduled.

  • Pop up Bike Hub. 10-12pm, October 31, November 28: (Every last Saturday of the month); Western Community Centre, 46 Hyde Avenue, Nawton
