About Us
The Hamilton Combined Christian Foodbank provides food parcels to individuals and families in Kirikiriroa. Food parcels provide pantry, frozen, and vegetables items that cover meals for 3 days.

About the Role
Help strengthen connections between the Foodbank and the wider community by building relationships with schools, churches, community groups, and local organisations. This role supports awareness, referrals, fundraising, and food collection initiatives that help ensure individuals and whānau can access practical support when needed. Looking to build a team with a Coordinator connecting with one of the following areas: Hamilton East, South (Glenview/Melville/Deanwell), North (Pukete, Te Rapa) and West (Nawton, Dinsdale).

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local schools, churches, businesses, and community groups
  • Promote food collection drives, fundraising events, and donation opportunities within the community
  • Encourage schools and churches to support the Foodbank through regular giving, special collections, and awareness initiatives
  • Organise and attend information sessions to share the Foodbank’s services and community impact
  • Promote referral pathways so schools, churches, and organisations can confidently refer individuals and families for food support, including food parcels and kaumaatua packs
  • Help identify new outreach opportunities and partnerships within the community
  • Support the development of creative fundraising ideas and community engagement activities
  • Represent the Foodbank professionally and respectfully within the community
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity of those accessing support

Time commitment:

  • 2–4 hours per week
  • likely to be home-based role but also out and about in the local community
  • need to be able to commit to monthly meetings with the manager and the connector team
