About Us
We provide a centre that welcomes and empowers refugees in our community. Our services include advocacy, education, basic computer training, learner and restricted drivers education, study support services for primary and secondary school students, holiday programmes, youth camps, information workshops, sport and recreation, and other social events for the community.

Our motto “For Refugees, By Refugees” was a call for action by our founders Guillaume Muzombo, Marie-Jeanne Muzombo, and Oscar Bulamba, who came from the Democratic Republic of Congo and found safety in New Zealand only to experience the difficulties of navigating their new home as refugees. Hence, ROC was founded to help those facing similar difficulties.

The team at ROC encourages a culture of acceptance, love, and growth. We work towards achieving the goal of self-sufficiency and helping former refugees to become independent in New Zealand, and to assert themselves as assets of their new country.
