Foodbank Admin & Client Support – Cambridge

We’re looking for friendly, caring volunteers to help our office run smoothly and make everyone who comes through the door feel comfortable and respected. Many people seeking support can feel unsure or nervous, so your welcoming presence makes a real difference.

You’ll greet clients, answer calls, help with enquiries, and support staff with small admin tasks, all while being a calm, friendly face that puts people at ease.

What you’ll do:

  • Welcome clients and visitors warmly and respectfully.
  • Answer phone calls and take messages.
  • Assist with enquiries and guide people to the right staff member or service.
  • Help with simple paperwork and small admin tasks.
  • Keep the front desk tidy and organised.

Requirements:

  • Respectful, non-judgemental attitude, understanding that everyone’s situation is different.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with care and discretion.
  • Ideally, be a Cambridge resident and keen to support your local community.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

  • Shifts are Mondays and Tuesdays, 10:00am – 1:00pm.
  • We ask for a commitment of around 6 months to a year, as full training is provided and this allows you to get the most out of your volunteering experience.
  • Flexible and supportive environment, we’ll work with you if you need to adjust your schedule.
