Foodbank Volunteer Driver – Cambridge

We’re looking for friendly, caring volunteers to join our Cambridge Foodbank team. Your role will be to help collect food donations in the Salvation Army Van, sort and organise them, and make sure they’re ready to reach the people who need them most.

You’ll be part of a supportive team that works together to fight hunger in our community. Whether you can spare just half an hour or a little longer, every contribution counts.

Flexible commitment: Some tasks might only take 30 minutes, while others may take a bit longer, we’ll work around your availability.
Full training provided: We’ll give you all the guidance you need to feel confident and safe in your role.

Volunteering with us isn’t just about moving food, it’s about connecting with your community and making a real, tangible difference in people’s lives.

Requirements:

  • A full NZ driving licence to help with collecting donations.
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes of varying sizes.
  • Good time management and reliability.
  • Willingness to learn quickly and follow simple procedures.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

  • Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Time: 9:30–10:30am
  • Shift length: 1 hour, short and flexible
