Garden Project Leader

We are seeking an experienced vegetable gardener and capable project leader to help bring a new community based initiative to life. This role combines hands-on growing expertise with project & volunteer management, community engagement & regular servicing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use your vegetable growing experience and expertise in our start up stage to help shape the initiative
  • Help build our systems for replication, growing, harvesting etc
  • Then implement our modular garden system into homes in our local area following marketing campaigns
  • Coordinate and manage volunteers and partners
  • Oversee planting plans, seasonal production, and maintenance
  • Support implementation of our social enterprise model
  • Ensure delivery against project goals and community outcomes

The first part of the role is to help us design an execution system of veges types, calendars for the year, and build systems for launch in conjunction with our Project owners. The first part of the role would also be to help us test feasibility, costs assumption and develop a cost savings model for idea that we can present to potential users

Once launched the role will then be more hands on visiting sites -planting, servicing and harvesting and re-planting and coordinating volunteers and the teams and building connections with partners and service providers

Requirements:

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong, practical experience in vegetable gardening (essential)
  • Proven ability to lead projects and manage people
  • Organised, proactive, and community-minded
  • Passion for social impact, food resilience, and local enterprise
  • Alignment with our values and faith based initiatives

Time commitment:

This role is still being scoped and would initially be 10 hours per week and would grow over time

We will be seeking funding for start up so this role of say 20 hours per week once launched and so may become a paid opportunity for the right candidate who aligns with the vision, its social and economic goals and has a heart for people and community and gardening and has a proven ability to help us launch successfully
