Graeme Dingle Foundation is dedicated to empowering tamariki & rangatahi through our positive youth development programmes, equipping them with the skills and confidence to thrive.

Project K impacts on a young person at an instrumental time in their lives. It focuses on building self-confidence, life skills and a healthy lifestyle through an array of outdoor activities, challenges, interaction with other young people and a positive relationship with a mentor.

Mentors will

  • Support a Student to improve social and interaction skills
  • Support a Student to work towards their goals
  • Be a Positive Role Model for a Student

Mentors will have to commit to 12 months of mentoring, with face to face meetings once a fortnight, and online/text communication in between this.
Mentors will meet with Coordinator once a month

Requirements:

  • Friendly and relatable, easy for a Year 10 (14-15 year old) student to engage in conversation with you.
  • Honest, open to sharing your life experience appropriately to Year 10 students.
  • Fluent in speaking English
  • Clean Slate when Police Vetted
  • Your own transport to travel for meetings and events.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

  • Once a fortnight (every two weeks) with students, usually afternoon/evenings (after school hours)
  • Once a month with Programme Coordinator.
