Join the Heritage Village Garden Team and help care for the beautiful gardens surrounding the historic buildings at Mystery Creek Events Centre

Working alongside a friendly team of volunteers, you’ll help keep the Heritage Village looking its best for visitors to enjoy. Seasonal tasks include weeding, planting, pruning, mulching and general garden maintenance. Every session is a little different, with plenty of opportunities to work outdoors, stay active and enjoy good company.

  • No gardening experience is necessary
  • Just a willingness to get involved and enjoy working as part of a team.

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply keen to learn, you’ll be shown what to do and supported along the way.

Requirements:

  • No gardening experience is necessary, all skill levels are welcome.
  • Enjoy being outdoors and working alongside a friendly team.
  • Bring your enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear and comfortable clothing suitable for the weather.
  • We’ll provide all the necessary equipment, including gloves and gardening tools.
  • Be ready to get your hands dirty while helping care for the beautiful Heritage Village gardens.
  • Most importantly, come along ready to have fun, make new friends, and help keep the Heritage Village looking its best.

Time commitment:

  • Gardening sessions are held every second Thursday from 8.30am to 11.30am in the Heritage Village at Mystery Creek Events Centre.
  • Volunteers are welcome to attend as often as their schedule allows
  • There is no requirement to attend every session.
  • Opportunities are available throughout the year, with a short break over winter and around Fieldays time.
