At Waikato Equitherapy, we create magic every week. Children and adults with special needs come to ride and interact with our therapy horses, building confidence, independence, and joy. Behind every smile, every small victory, is a supportive community of staff and volunteers making it all possible.
Our Centre isn’t just for riders, it’s a place of belonging. Volunteers, work experience students, and holiday program participants all come together to learn, grow, and connect. By helping care for the grounds, you play a vital role in keeping this safe, welcoming space alive.
About the Role
We’re looking for a handy, reliable volunteer who enjoys being outdoors and wants to make a meaningful contribution. Your work will keep our Centre safe, beautiful, and ready for the riders whose lives you help transform.
You’ll often work independently, but you’ll always be part of a friendly, supportive team who values your skills and effort. No two days are the same, and every task you complete has a real impact on our riders’ experience.
Tasks Involved
- Carry out general maintenance tasks, such as fence repairs, weed spraying, and upkeep of the facilities
- Solve practical problems and be resourceful as you help the Centre run smoothly
- Take pride in maintaining a welcoming, safe environment for riders, staff, and fellow volunteers
We don’t need formal qualifications, just someone who enjoys being outdoors and doesn’t mind working in the elements. While you’ll often work independently, the friendly team is always nearby to offer support as you carry out essential maintenance tasks.
