Help us turn history into an experience rather than just an exhibition. As a Learning Content Creator, you’ll play an important role in transforming our museum’s stories into engaging learning moments that inspire curiosity and connection for visitors of all ages.

Working alongside our team, you’ll help interpret the themes within our collections and shape how they are experienced, ensuring our history is not only preserved, but brought vividly to life for our community.

This flexible project offers three focus areas. You’re welcome to contribute to one, two, or all three, depending on your skills and interests:

  • Research & Story Development: Unearth compelling facts and narratives that bring our themes to life, helping visitors better understand the people, places, and events that shaped our region.
  • Educational Poster Creation: Blend clear messaging with thoughtful design to create vibrant learning resources that guide visitors through the museum and deepen their experience.
  • Interactive Trails for Young Visitors: Develop engaging activity sheets or discovery trails that spark curiosity and encourage children and families to explore, ask questions, and learn together.

This is a wonderful opportunity to use your creativity and insight to shape how our community engages with local history.

Requirements:

  • Curiosity about history and a passion for helping others learn
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to present information in clear, engaging ways
  • Creativity with an eye for what captures attention across different audiences
  • Comfortable using digital tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, or collection software (e.g., PastPerfect)
  • A proactive, self-starter mindset with the confidence to work independently on project-based tasks
  • Reliable and able to see projects through to completion

Time commitment:

  • There is no fixed weekly schedule for this role.
  • As this is a project-based opportunity, we’re happy to work around your timeline, whether you want to power through in a week or chip away at it over a month.
  • You can choose to focus on one part of the project or contribute across multiple areas, depending on your interests and availability.
