As a Museum Host, you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors, helping make every museum visit welcoming and memorable. This role is perfect for anyone who enjoys meeting people, sharing stories, and being part of a friendly, supportive team.

In this role, you will:

  • Greet visitors warmly and create a welcoming atmosphere
  • Manage admissions through our digital ticketing system
  • Assist with small gift shop or ticket sales
  • Share the museum’s unique history, helping visitors feel informed and engaged

By combining practical support with storytelling, you help ensure every guest enjoys a positive and memorable experience.

Requirements:

  • Enjoy engaging with the public and have strong communication skills
  • Friendly and approachable, creating a welcoming environment for all visitors
  • Happy to work as part of a small, dedicated team
  • Reliable and punctual, able to commit to agreed shifts
  • Basic confidence using a tablet or computer (full training on our ticketing system will be provided)
  • Comfortable handling small cash or card transactions
  • Patient and adaptable when interacting with visitors of all ages
  • Willingness to learn and share the museum’s history with enthusiasm
  • Ability to follow museum policies and procedures

Time commitment:

  • Museum hours: Open 7 days a week, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
  • Frequency: We ask for at least one shift per fortnight to help keep our doors open to the community
  • Flexibility: Whether you can give an hour or a full shift, we offer flexible windows within opening hours to suit your schedule
