CERT is seeking a motivated volunteer to support our research activities that inform community-focused programmes. This role helps identify community needs and inform evidence-based programmes. Ideal for someone detail-oriented and interested in research.

About You:

  • assist with tasks such as conducting surveys
  • supporting interviews
  • organizing and recording data
  • helping with basic analysis
  • contribute to preparing summaries or reports

This role plays an important part in identifying community needs and challenges, particularly in areas such as education, employment, and social participation. You will work with a small, purpose-driven team and gain valuable experience in applied research while contributing to meaningful, evidence-based community initiatives. You will be working in the research team under the guidance of the experienced Research Lead of CERT.

Requirements:

  • Interest in research, community development, or social impact work
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collect, record, and manage information accurately
  • Basic analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet agreed timelines
  • Willingness to collaborate with a small team and follow guidance
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in research, surveys, or data collection (not essential)
  • Familiarity with tools such as Excel, Google Forms, or similar
  • Experience in report writing or summarizing information

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

  • Approximately 3–5 hours per week, with flexibility depending on project needs
  • Availability to support specific research activities (e.g., surveys, interviews) as required
