About the Role

We’re looking for one or two creative Social Media Volunteers to help manage and grow our social media presence. You’ll help create and share content, respond to posts and comments, and keep our social media groups active and engaging.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys social media, has creative ideas and can work independently. You’ll receive a thorough induction to help you understand our organisation, our mission and the people we support, so you can confidently communicate our work online.

Key Tasks:

  • Create and publish engaging social media posts.
  • Respond to comments, messages and interactions.
  • Help manage and maintain our social media group pages.
  • Develop new content ideas and ways to increase engagement.
  • Keep our online presence active, positive and aligned with our mission.
  • Use initiative to identify opportunities to share stories, information and updates.

Requirements:

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Creative and enjoys developing content ideas.
  • Confident using social media platforms.
  • A good communicator with strong writing skills.
  • Able to work independently and use initiative.
  • Reliable and organised.
  • Comfortable engaging with people online.
  • Interested in understanding and promoting our organisation's mission.
  • Must have excellent English.

Previous social media experience is helpful but enthusiasm, creativity and initiative are just as important.

Time commitment:

  • Approximately 3 hours per week - flexible to what suits you
  • During office hours, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–3:00pm
  • We are looking for a commitment of at least 3 months, with the opportunity to continue longer term.
  • Based at the organisation's office but once settled and confident may be able to be home-based.
