Support a newly arrived Refugee Family – Hamilton

Hamilton

Meet new people, make connections and work as part of the team
You will be assigned to work in a team of 2-3 volunteers led by a Case Manager. Volunteers help set up the house a couple of days before the family arrives. On Arrival Day your team welcomes them to Hamilton and orientates them to the kitchen and explains important information about the house & property.

In the first few weeks, volunteers help with everyday tasks such as:

  • Where to shop
  • Showing them how to catch a bus
  • Enrolling children in school
  • Taking them to the doctor, etc.

This is the busiest time, after which the time commitment decreases.
