Going through cancer treatment is challenging, but you can help make the journey a little easier.

Our Transport to Treatment service supports people who need assistance getting to and from their medical appointments. By providing safe and reliable transport, you help reduce the stress of traffic, parking, and navigation, easing the burden during an already difficult time. The time and support you offer are deeply valued by the people we transport.

For many people undergoing treatment, simply getting to their appointment can feel overwhelming. Your time, care, and support make a meaningful difference in their day.

Where We Need Drivers
We are currently seeking Volunteer Drivers to assist clients in:

  • Te Awamutu
  • West Hamilton
  • South Hamilton

Support and Resources Provided
Your safety and wellbeing are important to us. We provide:

  • Orientation and training
  • Ongoing support and guidance whenever needed
  • Volunteer identification (to be worn while on duty)
  • Contribution towards travel expenses
  • Clear communication and service updates

Requirements:

  • A caring and supportive attitude
  • A full, current NZ driver’s licence
  • A safe and reliable vehicle
  • Availability to commit time that suits your schedule
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • The ability to liaise with clients about collection and drop-off times
  • The ability to stay connected with the driving team to ensure each assignment runs smoothly

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

  • Each assignment usually takes between 2–3 hours
  • Most driving takes place during standard business hours
