Oncology Host – Thames Hospital

Thames

In this rewarding role, being compassionate and organised is vital. You will also need that extra “sixth sense” to know the right help to offer at the right time, whether that’s providing a reassuring welcome, offering a well-timed cup of tea and a chat, or helping clients connect with Cancer Society Waikato/Bay of Plenty, our Support Groups, and Nurse Navigator liaisons.

As part of our 3,000-strong network of volunteers across the country, you will belong to an important community supporting clients and their supporters through their treatment journey.

You will be joining an awesome team of volunteers in Thames who support each other and do amazing mahi. We offer regular shifts, whether once a month or once a week, as well as more casual, on-call volunteering to cover absences when needed.
