One-Day Volunteer Project: St Aidan’s Church Loft Clear-Out (Hamilton)

St Aidan’s Church is looking for a group of volunteers to help clear out the church loft and storage area in Hamilton.

This is a practical, hands-on job involving lifting, carrying, sorting, and moving items down a staircase and into a skip bin. Some items are heavy, so we’re looking for people who are reasonably fit and comfortable with physical work.

You’ll be working alongside others to help get the space cleared out and organised. It’s a straightforward team effort and many hands will make the job quicker and easier.

Tasks Involve:

  • Help move items from the loft area down stairs
  • Assist with lifting and carrying items into a skip bin
  • Sort and clear stored items
  • Work alongside other volunteers as part of a team
  • Help tidy and organise the space

Requirements:

  • Reasonably fit and comfortable with lifting and carrying items
  • Able to safely use stairs while moving items
  • Reliable and willing to work as part of a team
  • Practical, hands-on attitude
  • Happy to help with sorting, clearing, and general clean-up tasks

Time commitment:

  • One-day project Friday 22nd May 9am–5pm (may finish earlier depending on volunteer numbers)
  • Volunteers are welcome to help for the full day or part of the day if available
  • Kai/food will be provided for volunteers throughout the day
