We are looking for a volunteer who is passionate about Te Reo Māori and interested in sharing their knowledge with a small group of tāne at Waikeria Prison.
This role involves running one session per week, helping participants build their confidence and familiarity with the language. For many of the men, this can be an important way to reconnect with culture and identity as part of their rehabilitation journey.
Resources can be provided if needed, but you are also welcome to bring along your own materials or teaching style, subject to approval.
This role would suit someone who is patient, open-minded, and comfortable working in a structured environment. It’s a chance to contribute in a practical way and support people who are looking to make positive changes.
Please note: A car is required to access the site, as Waikeria Prison is not serviced by public transport.
